Good News for Middletown
Adult Sunday school for Sunday, January 9 is canceled due to anticipated bad weather on Sunday. We still plan to have worship in-person and stream our service tomorrow.
God’s Kitchen, a ministry of the United Methodist churches in the Highspire/Middletown area, is now on hiatus for the foreseeable future. With rising COVID numbers, we are putting a pause on the meal. When COVID numbers go down, we intend to restart the meal.
On December 28, Evangelical will host God’s Kitchen at Wesley UMC at 6 PM. Our menu will be pork, sauerkraut, peas, mashed potatoes, and dessert. All are welcome. The meal is free.
After tomorrow, God’s Kitchen will be closed for the foreseeable future. Due to COVID concerns, the leadership is temporarily closing the meal until the situation improves. Please be on the look out for updates.
On Sunday, December 19, we celebrated our fifty year plus members. Last year we were not able to get a photo or recognizing them in worship due to the pandemic. We were thankful to get a picture and pray with them in worship.
Our Christmas Eve service will be at 7 PM on Friday, December 24. Evan’s choir will offer a short cantata “Glory to the Newborn King.” We will sing traditional Christmas hymns. The service will end with the singing of “Silent Night” with candlelight. All are welcome! Come join us celebrate the birth of Jesus.
