The Sunday worship gathering is 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. in the upstairs worship center in the main building. Worshipers access the worship center by using the stairs on the right or left just inside the main entrance, or enter the main building through the handicap accessible entrance (just to the left of the main entrance) and take the elevator to the second floor. Trained and friendly greeters and ushers, indicated by lapel name tages, are always available to assist worshipers.
The style of our worship gathering is eclectic, neither totally traditional nor contemporary. But it always strives to be multisensory because the character of our God is such that God must be worshiped with all of our senses. So the worshiper will glorify God through what she or he sees, hears, tastes, touches or smells. Most congregational songs and acts of worship are projected on large screens so the worshiper may use his or her body in worship.
The flow of our worship generally follows an ancient second-century A.D. Christian four-movement drama as recommended by the United Methodist Church:
- Gathering,
- Proclamation and Responses,
- Thanksgiving and Communion,
- and Going Forth.
Teaching and story sermons are usually delivered from the floor level and sometimes are enhanced by chancel drama and multimedia visual aids such as movie or video clips projected on a large screen. Sermons strive to be faithful to the biblical story and interactive between the preacher/teacher and worshipers.
The Lord's Supper is open to all Christians baptized in the name of the Trinitarian God as it is celebrated the first Sunday of each month plus Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday (before Easter) and Christmas Eve.
Baptisms are celebrated during the worship gathering on the Baptism of the Lord (first Sunday after January 6th), Easter, Pentecost (7th Sunday after Easter), and All Saints' Sunday (1st Sunday in November).
Each worship gathering's audio is recorded and then burned onto CDs. Choral music, solos and the sermon are converted to mp3s for downloading on this website.
Fellowship is very important to our gatherings. Informal fellowship with refreshments is offered following worship on the third Sunday each month September through May.
